Q:
Submit your Profile Report. For this project you will choose a person who is close to your
own age and interview that person to learn more about them. In addition to the interview
compare and contrast the responses from your interview with your own responses to the
same question. You will report your findings in an informative 1,400- to 1,750-word paper,
formatted according to APA guidelines, and containing the following elements:
o Does the interviewee remember information more accurately if he/she observes the
behavior being performed or does he/she prefer to read how the behavior is
performed?
o Does the interviewee prefer studying in a library, or at home where there are
background noises and some distractions?
o Has the person you are interviewing taken the Myers Briggs test? Report the results.
o Does your interviewee feel these results are accurate? Why or why not?
o Which experiences does this person feel contributed most in the development of
his/her personality?
o Does this person feel that he/she is self-monitoring in regards to his/her attitudes?
How or how not?
o What does the interviewee feel was the strongest influence on his/her attitudes?
o What role does your interviewee feel a person’s race, gender, or ethnicity play when
forming that person’s personality and attitudes?
o Does this person feel he/she is better at tasks when intrinsically motivated or
extrinsically motivated?

When interviewing the interviewee the first step was to begin with identifying which type of information processor he is: observational, insightful or experiential. Interviewees response turned out to prove both insightful and experiential styles of learning and memorizing and he shared some interesting ways to remember things. My brain learns and remembers new information by associating it to something it is already aware of; one day, when I need to recall it, I need activation in order to initiate the recall, he said. In other words, the learner is transported in his mind back to a moment in the past when the new information was first introduced. No wonder how the interviewee still remembers phone numbers and names of people he knew about 10 years ago. For the information to be optimally remembered there are more types of learning, and a distinctive one is the observational learning. Comparing to insight and experiential learning this type applies the social learning theory which occurs when an observer changes his/her behavior in accordance to a model behavior through observing, imitating, learning from observing without performing it (Observational Learning, 2001). Environment plays a big role on how the information is processed. While some learners prefer to study at home regardless the noisy background they may encounter, others would rather study in the library. The interviewees study preference is similar to mine; the library is his best reading environment for it can improve the quality of studying. Less distractions and noises favor the easiness of remembering information.
Personality Measuring Tests
Personality reveals characteristic behavior and a persons typical behavior which is measured through personality tests (Morris & Maisto, 2002). Myers Briggs test brought a contribution to a better understanding of personality types. It is the most socially accepted today; however, there are many reasons why some people do not believe in personali ...

Some individuals need complete silence to study while others can study with distractions.
After discussing preferred study habits, Steph said that she would much rather study in a quiet library instead of being at home with background noises and distractions. Steph is easily distracted by the television, her cell phone, the radio, and other people when she tries to study at home. As a result, she does not get much accomplished. Being in a quiet setting enables her to focus solely on the work at hand.
Me, on the other hand, have never studied in a library and do not plan to. I enjoy being surrounded by the comforts of home. Even though there are background noises and some distractions, I tune them out and focus on my studies. I usually try to eliminate as may distractions as possible but there are always a few unforeseen ones from time to time.
Another factor which might affect ones study habits is their type pf personality. To figure out her personality type, I had Stephanie take the Jung/Myers Briggs test from the similarminds.com website that I took a few weeks back. After taking the test, the results reported her having a Seller personality. The formula describing her personality is ESFJ with the percentages as follows: Extroverted (E) 74.19%, Sensing (S) 56.67%, Feeling (F) 52.16, and Judging (J) 55.81%. In addition to these percentages, the results noted her personality as most sociable of all types in addition to nurturer of harmony, and outstanding host or hostesses. (Flynn, T. n.d.) This particular personality type resembles 12.3% of total population.
Surprisingly, the results I received when I took the test a few weeks ago were close to hers. The formula describing my personality is ESTJ with the percentages as follows: Extroverted (E) 64.52%, Sensing (S) 62.16%, Thinking (T) 56.1, and Judging (J) 63.16%. My personality type is described as an Administrator who is much in touch with the external environment, very responsible, and a pillar of strength. (Flynn, T. n.d.) This personality type reflects 8.7% of total population.
Now that we seen the results from both tests and had t ...
