The team would have to work harder at communication or coming up with a solution, but it still can useful to have diversity in a team. <br><br>Since working in a team involves many different individuals, it is inevitable that conflicts will arise. Knowing how to manage conflicts effectively can allow the team to be more productive. Conflicts can either encourage different solutions or prohibit a team from becoming productive. Conflict management is very important in working in a team because managing the conflict helps to keep the team focused on the project at hand.<br><br>Week 3 DQ1<br><br>The type of research I am doing determines how I go about trying to find answers. If it is for something trivial, I usually just use Google and look at the top three or four results. If I am doing research for an academic paper that must contain reliable sources, I usually start by using the University's online library to search for my topic. This way I know that the results will be reliable, professional, and/or peer reviewed. When I cannot find all the information or I need more sources for an academic paper, I will then do a Google or Wikipedia search as a starting point. I will usually look at the results from websites that end in .edu or .org first before I progress to other websites. I believe that the key to online research is to realize that not everything on the internet is reliable, even if it appears to be. I have come across contradictory information even from reliable sources. When this happens, I try to find at least two other sources on the same topic to try and decifer what information is accurate.<br><br>Week 3 DQ2<br><br>The role of formal writing, in this technological savory era, is mainly used for business transactions. A contract or agreement cannot be written in casual language and still maintain validity. In addition, any business to business transactions should be professional, thus using formal writing techniques. Formal writing should also be used for academic or professional publications. I cannot imagine a publication in a medical or law journal that did not contain formal writing!
