I speak to my friends as if they were family. Most conversation with friends and family are communicated through phone conversation or email. The tone is usually very relaxed and rarely formal. Resolving a conflict with a boss, coworker, or instructor must remain professional and respectful. Most people in a conflict with family or friends tend to be a bit more aggressive. However, respect should still be given to the person you are in a conflict with. Just because they are family or friends does not make them any less important than a boss or coworker. In fact, they should be more important, just less formal.<br><br>Week 2 DQ2<br><br>Individual diversity brings variety to team work. The experiences and different viewpoints of a diverse team bring forth a broader range of ideas. However, diversity can be a challenge in some teams if a communication barrier is present. If someone in a team only spoke very limited English and everyone else was native to speaking English, then the diversity can be difficult to overcome. The team would have to work harder at communication or coming up with a solution, but it still can useful to have diversity in a team. <br><br>Since working in a team involves many different individuals, it is inevitable that conflicts will arise. Knowing how to manage conflicts effectively can allow the team to be more productive. Conflicts can either encourage different solutions or prohibit a team from becoming productive. Conflict management is very important in working in a team because managing the conflict helps to keep the team focused on the project at hand.<br><br>Week 3 DQ1<br><br>The type of research I am doing determines how I go about trying to find answers. If it is for something trivial, I usually just use Google and look at the top three or four results. If I am doing research for an academic paper that must contain reliable sources, I usually start by using the University's online library to search for my topic.
