It is very helpful to also know the possible adverse effects Malathion may cause in humans.
The environment in the area of the Malathion application will also be affected in some way. It is unlikely the Malathion will have any positive effects, so the focus will be on the negative effects. Toxic solutions can also make their ways to areas that are far from the original point of introduction into the environment; this is called “environmental mobility.”
Another risk to Genericville concerning Malathion application is the loss of tourism. It has been argued that because Genericville has a high rate of WNV infection, tourists will not visit the city without the Malathion application.
Once the potential hazards have been identified, the next step is Dose-Response Assessment. Opponents to the application of Malathion estimate ninety cases of Malathion-related illnesses, with as many as four of those cases being fatal. Those who are in favor of Malathion application estimate that without Malathion, WNV could infect up to fifty and claim two lives. Malathion application could destroy 90% of the mosquito infestation, thereby causing the number of WNV infections to dwindle to five, with a 20% chance of each case being fatal.
The Exposure Assessment is the next step in risk analysis. It must be determined to what extent huma ...

Construction on new facilities would likely follow, lasting as little as three years per solar generating station with an annual generating capacity of 40 Megawatts (De Wachter, 2007, ¶ 1). Such a capacity could potentially power 10,000 typical households for one year (Juwi Group, 2007, ¶ 4). Building solar power stations consumes energy, but a 40MW station will recoup the energy used to build it after just a year (¶ 8).
Once sufficient wind farms and solar farms are being built and world populations are able to witness a commitment to renewable energy, the demand for fossil fuels will begin to decline. As more and more renewable energy sources become available, reliance on “the old way” will begin to disappear. Though it could potentially take fifty or more years to fully establish a total reliance on renewable energy, world populations will not have to concern themselves with depleting energy sources.
The benefits of total reliance on renewable energy sources are apparent; no emissions of CO2, SO2, and NOX will lead to a reduction in acid deposition and a slowing of climate change. Dependence on drilling and mining for fossil fuels will virtually disappear. There cannot be any negative environmental impacts caused by burning fossil fuels if the entire world is using renewable energy sources.
In order for this sustainability plan to be effective, there will need to be support from all levels of society. At the local level, individuals prominent in their communities can begin to make a difference with editorials in the local newspaper. Radio addresses and fund raising campaigns can also contribute to awareness. Perhaps the most effective method for support of renewable energy will be the combined voices of local populations speaking to local lawmakers.
Local lawmakers will play a pivotal role in the process. Not only will local legislation raise awareness, but local executive branches will need to ensure national legislation is being implemented in their own communities. Once local governments are on board, state governments will take up the cause, which will lead to national governments ...
