Q:
MGT240-0903A-07 Business Management and Leadership
Assignment Name: Unit 3 Discussion Board
Deliverable Length: 3-4 paragraphs
Details: Read through the Twelve Principles for Managing Change at the following website, http://www.lynco.com/12prin.html. Post the following on the discussion board:

Select the three principles you believe are the most important to follow when managing change and describe why you feel these are essential.
Describe some specific techniques that can be used to manage change in an organization. Explain how these techniques are consistent with the principles you selected.

Remember to use the Library or other Web resources to support your argument. Be sure to cite your sources using the correct standard of APA.

In your own words, please post a response to the Discussion Board and comment on other postings. You will be graded on the quality of your postings.
Your work MUST include a reference list. All research should be cited in the body of the paper. Discussion Board essays and Individual Projects without references and citations may not earn any higher grade than a 'C' letter grade. Your report should contain a short introduction and conclusion in addition to the body of the paper. Please note that if you have a source in your reference section, you need to cite it in the body of the paper per APA guidelines and vice-versa.

Objective: In completing the Unit 3 DB, students demonstrate mastery of the course outcomes specified below. The relative weight of each outcome is also listed.

Describe the techniques of managing change. (80%)
The remaining 20% of the grading will be based on your in-depth interactions with your colleagues.
Points Possible: 50
Date Due: Sunday, Aug 09, 2009
Objective: Describe the techniques of managing change.

Submitted Files: Discussion Board
Score: N/A
Instructor Comments: Discussion Board topics are tied to specific course Learning Events for each week of the five-week session. Students should post their individual answers to the Discussion Board prior to reading and responding to others. Students should not attach files to the Discussion Board. If the answers are prepared a file in Word, the student should copy and paste it directly into the Discussion Board. Discussion board participation is required and evaluated qualitatively utilizing the criteria below:

A: Student answered the question fully and intelligently, and used the text as support for response(s). To earn a high A, the student must cite external research sources, reasonable inferences, and/or a real world example. Response was posted within the allotted timeframe and was written at a college-level. Responded to fellow students with substantive post that promoted the discussion.

B: Student answered the question and/or responded to other postings. Response was posted within the allotted timeframe and was written at a college-level.

C: Student answered the question briefly or incompletely. Response was posted within the allotted timeframe and was written at a college-level.

D: Student answered the learning event incompletely and/or outside the allotted timeframe.

F: Student did not answer the question at all.

Since the discussion board is meant to be interactive, students must comment on other student postings, share a personal experience, and/or quote an outside reference to receive full credit.

I have chose these three for my three principles.

1. people fear change it to them.

2. Trust is earned by those who demonstrate consistent behavior and clearly defined values.

3. The intrinsic rewards of a project are ofthen more important than the material rewards and recognition.

This is information used on my job website but i want to try to put it in my own words. I think it goes well with the topics i chose.

Establish a System of conistency. Make decisions and provide direction and guidance in a consistent manner. Stick with the plans, based on approriate laws, plocies, and procedures, even when it is easier to take shortcuts. Taking shortcuts or breaking the rules, simply for convenience, communicates to your staff that rules should only be followed when someone makes you. Not being consistent damages your credibility and creates a lack of confidence in your system of fairness and honesty.

Establish a system of vigorous honesty. you cannot profit anything legitimate without vigorous honesty. without the trust of your staff, you have nothing. Be honest and upright, avoid deception, and live the values you suggest for your staff. Make your integrity unquestionable. Follow these steps in determing how to deal with any situation or person: discern the right thing; do it; and say openly why.
