Q:In furnishing their new office space, a company allows each employee to select a desk, a chair and a bookcase or file cabinet based on personal preference. There are two desks models, 3 different chairs, 2 styles of file cabinet and 4 bookcase styles to choose from. Given these possibilities, how many different office configurations are there for each employee to choose from?
The company above wants to streamline the selection process by limiting the number of choices to just one file cabinet or one bookcase.(The employee will still choose one or the other.) How many different configurations can be created in this new situation?
