Q:

For School. week 4 hum class DQ 1 for particapation. i need feedback from the instructors question below.

You ask a very relevant question regarding the actions of Buddha's father. According to Fisher, his father, a local king, wanted Buddha to have no negative experience. In this way, the young Buddha would grow up eager to succeed his father as ruler of the local kingdom.

His father sought to protect his son. Yet in spite of this, Buddha began to question the value of his life of leisure. Instead of guaranteeing that Buddha would succeed his father, his easy life ultimately led Buddha to reject his inheritance.

Class, do you feel that the moral of an overprotective parent not being able to prevent the experience of pain and suffering is applicable to today's world?
