Q:I need some help with making a distribution plot and a scatter plot. Does anyone know how to help me out with these. I am trying to use Excel to make them and I really have tried several times, but they are really complicated!
I have some plots that I have figured out on my own, but I just need help trying to plot them using Excel. Can anyone show me how?
2) Determine the characteristics of the comparison distribution.
a. Estimated population variances based on each sample.
<!--filtered-->
Experimental Group
Control Group
N1 = 20
N2 = 30
df1 = 19
df2 = 29
M1 = 38
S12 = 3
M2 = 35
S22 = 5
S21 = 3 Estimated population variance for Experimental Group
S22 = 5 Estimated population variance for Control Group
b. 4.2083333 Pooled Estimate of Population Variance
S2p = (df1)(S12) + (df2)(S22)/n1 + n2 – 2 = (19)(3) + (29)(5)/20 + 30 – 2 = 57+145/48 = 4.2083333
c. S2P/N1 = 4.2083/20 = 0.21041667 Variance of Distribution Mean for Experimental Group
S2P/N2 = 0.140278 Variance of Distribution Mean for Control Group
d. S2DIFF = 0.350695 Variance of Distribution of Difference Between Means
e. SDIFF = 0.5921946 Standard Deviation of Distribution of Difference Between Means
3) dfTOTAL = 19 + 29 = 48 and given in problem: sig. level = .05 and assuming two-tailed test
cutoff sample score (using Table A-2 on page 671) will be between
2.009 (df50) AND 2.014 (df45)
4) sample's score on comparison distribution
t = (M1 – M2) / SDIFF = 38-35/0.5921946 t = 5.0659
5) Conclusion:
Since t score of 5.06 is larger than cutoff t score of 2.009, we can reject the null hypothesis. The experimental group's knowledge has increased as a result of the instructional program
