Assignment: Bead Bar Network Paper

In this assignment, you will exercise critical thinking skills. Remember to suspend judgment when determining the network’s topology and architecture. Outlining the development of a high-level computer network requires the application of logical inquiry. You will form evaluative decisions when you determine the network topology and architecture that best suits the Bead Bar.

· Resources: Appendix E, Information Systems Technology
· Due Date: Day 7 [Individual] forum

· Write a 1050-1750 word paper in APA format outlining the development of a high-level computer network design for the Bead Bar. Your paper should include the network topology that you think should be used, the network architecture, and the advantages and drawbacks that the recommended network would provide to the organization. Use the headings/sections provided in Appendix E to organize your paper, as well as the specific requirements/topics to address in each section.

· Post the paper in your Individual forum.

The server may act as the hub itself, or a stand-alone hub may be connected directly to this server. Each computer connected to that server will be considered the client. The server will powerfully process all data to the main corporate head quarters office. This will allow any network administrator to manage or configure every computer in every store through a main server in the corporate office. All servers within each store will be connected to the main server. This will allow all corporate staff to send and receive information to and from each store to a specified computer, or may print the information to a specific printer in that store.

Bead Bar Network Paper 3

Network Topology

The design of the network will make use of a Star Topology. This topology is reliable and less expensive then other topologies. The devices in each store such as computers, printers, scanners, and registers, will be connected wirelessly through a wi-fi adapter to a wireless hub. The hub will be a center point that will connect all devices to each other allow them to process information back and forth.

This topology will allow all employees within that store to communicate between each computer, and to the corporate office.
