What is the difference between an equation and an expression? Include an example of each. Can you solve for a variable in an expression? Explain. Can you solve for a variable in an equation? Explain. Write a mathematical phrase or sentence for your classmates to translate. 

Consider participating by translating your classmates’ phrases or sentences and explaining what clues indicate that the problems are either expressions or equations. Respond to classmates who have responded to your sentence or phrase and indicate whether or not they correctly translated the problem.
