Q:Exercise 88
Derrek Lee of the Chicago Cubs had the highest batting average at .335 during the 2005 season. Tony Gwynn hit .394 in the strike-shortened season of 1994, and Ted Williams hit .406 in 1941. No one has hit over .400 since 1941. The mean batting average has remained constant at about .260 for more than 100 years, but the standard deviation declined from .049 to .031. This indicates less dispersion in the batting averages today and helps explain the lack of any .400 hitters in recent times.
3. Select the variable that refers to the seating capacity of the stadium. Find the mean, median, and the standard deviation.
