To varying degrees, many individuals see immigration as a source of great strength for the United States or as a grave threat. An estimated 12 million illegal immigrants reside in this country, many of them in Texas and most from Mexico. A recent attempt to pass an immigration bill in the U.S. Senate appears all but dead. Preview: ... These individuals bring with them terroristic ideas and in general work to ruin the American sentiment. Why that this bill is all but dead on the Senate floor is because the senators like the American general public recognize that while there are certainly issues with immigration especially illegal immigration, the problem is so big while simultaneously being amongst such a small group, that it is not likely to be resolved by a bill. The problem illegal immigrants cause that traffic and seek to cause problems are enormous but, and here is where it gets even more tricky, those who are an issue represent only a small portion of those wo come across our borders. So to be more exact, let's say an estimated 6 million people come to this country to reside in a year. Out of that 6 million, 500,000 arrived legally with il will towards Americans and bad intentions. Another 1 million arrived illegally across the border with bad intentions such as drug trafficing and distribution.
