You are acting as a retail interiors consultant for Zappos.com . They are interested in opening up a brick and mortar store in New York City, to compliment their successful online store.
In order to make certain that you consider new design approaches, you will need to evaluate the various design team specialists in the field. To make a relatively fast analysis of retail design firms, you turn to the list presented in the text on page 289. Table 13.1(the link is below) provides you with a good list of retail design companies. Just be sure in your presentation to cite the source.

Write a 1-2 page design brief as a consultant you would present to Zappos.
Include:
- Selection of a design firm. Be able to justify your decision using industry terminology, understanding the client and limited space available in Manhattan.
- Brief list of design firm's other clients, notable projects, etc.
- Suggest store size.
- Suggest specific location or shopping district (not required, but suggested).
- Present the list of categories you think Zappos should carry in their brick and mortar store. They carry such a wide range of products, so suggesting product categories, any brand ranges, mens, womens, children.
- After presenting the product categories, offer in-store merchandising display ideas. Use your knowledge of retail stores around the world you have visited, and keep the Zappos style, and customer in mind.
