Howard Schultz, chief strategies for Starbucks, says, I look at franchising as a way of accessing capital, and I will never make the tradeoff between cheap money and losing control over our stores (In Brown, D. R., & Harvey, D. (2006).

1) What does Schultz mean by that statement and what does he believe Starbucks might lose by allowing franchising?
