I need help just to figure out how to get started writing this and the ending hypothesizing i don't get at all.

Choose one social, economic, or political event that you studied from each of the five decades following World War II--1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s--that you think had a more powerful impact on the American people than other events within the same decade.

Conclude the paper by hypothesizing changes you anticipate to happen in the US social, economic, or poltical climate of the next ten years. Explain the reasons for your hypothesis

Your introduction should be a paragraph explaining what you are going to discuss in your paper - in your case, you are going to discuss exactly what the assignment is: social, political and economic events that occurred over different time periods in the United States (you can list one or two of them) and how they impacted different aspects of United States life.

One of the last sentences of your introduction (opening paragraph) should allow for a smooth transition into your first topic:
EXAMPLE: you can say something along the lines of how there have been many significant political events that have been altering to the united states, particularly the appointment of McCarthy as President. Without declaring war, President Truman vowed that America would assist the South Koreans in stopping the invasion. However, President Truman did not involve America by itself. Instead, the United Nations would supervise the policing action even though United States General Douglas MacArthur commanded it. (Davidson, 2006)
When the United Nations finally approved the policing action on June 27, General MacArthur would have to derive a military miracle since North Korea had already trapped the South Korean forces to one of the southern most cities in South Korea, Pusan. MacArthur placed United Nation and United States forces behind enemy lines in an effort to divide and conquer on the offensive. The mission was successful and Truman ordered MacArthur to drive the communists further north into China and completely out of Korea. However, China would not tolerate such action by the United States or the United Nations, and 400,000 Chinese soldiers swarmed into Korea and easily forced a military stalemate. The defeat is marked as one of the worst defeats in United States history. (Wikipedia, 2008) General MacArthur would not acknowledge the defeat and insisted that the United States should launch a full-scale attack on mainland China, and he issued a demand for total surrender by the Chinese. Truman was furious and feared the Chinese would see this as just cause to launch another World War. MacArthur’s insubordination would cost him his career as President Truman relieved MacArthur of his duties.
The Korean Conflict eventually dissolved with neither North Korea nor South Korea being able to claim victory. The Korean peninsula would remain divided at the 38th parallel. Even though neither side won, the Korean conflict paved the way for foreign policy strategy in the coming decades. The United States, under President Eisenhower, used an ultimatum tactic that forced North Korea to come to a speedy decision or they would again face invasion by the United States. The scare tactic worked, but unfortunately, over 34,000 Americans lost their lives over the policing action of Korea.
“I Have A Dream”
As time passed since the Civil War, African Americans became increasingly tired of living in segregation with their equal counterparts, the White man. In December of 1955, Rosa P ...
