$10.00 Electricity

Q:
Checks, please ,

i) Agenerator produces 240 V at 25 A . If the mechanical and electrical power losses total 900 watts , what is the efficency of the generator ?

μμ) Six cells are connected in series to form a battery.Each cell has a rating of 1.5 V and 1 A AWG 18-gauge wire where join the postive terminal of the battery fored by this series of cells to an indicator lamp located 300ft away.Another 300 ft length of AWGn 18 wire runs
from the lamp to thje negative pole of the battery.
The lamp acts as a 50 ohms resistor.

Find the following :

a) What are the total voltage and amperage suppied by the battery ?

b)What is the total resistance resulting from the 600 ft
of AWG 18 wire ?

c) What is the voltage drop across the total length of wire ?

d)What is the voltage drop across the indicator lamp?

iii) Is the following calculation passage a correct one ?

C = 1/ 3.16 x 10^5 = 3.16 x 10^-6 F = 3.16 microfarad.

Since you have a total of 600 feet of wire, the resistance of the wire is .006384 * 600 = 3.83 ohms.

c) What is the voltage drop across the total length of wire ?

The lamp has a resistance of 50 ohms, so the total resistance of the load on the battery is 50 + 3.83 = 53.83 ohms. This means the current drawn from the battery is 9 volts / 53.83 ohms = .1672 amps.
The c ...
