David says that Dara “makes me so freaking mad, but then I just realize that she’s only trying to make me a better person” (David Nichols, 2009). Another very strong influence on David’s overall attitude is his children, Austin and Keith Nichols. These are he and Dara’s twin sons. He says that he “doesn’t want them to grow up and see me losing my temper all the time and think that this type of behavior is acceptable.” (David Nichols, 2009). Dara, whole-heartedly agrees with him.<br> David feels that a person’s race, ethnicity and gender affect their attitudes greatly. “I feel that minorities and women act the way that they do because of the preconceived notions that they are supposed to be substandard to white males. They have to act as though they are better then white males in order to be considered legitimately.” (David Nichols, 2009). Dara does not agree with David in regards to this statement.<br> David is better at tasks when he is extrinsically motivated. He prefers to work towards a certain goal such as a paycheck in order to care for his family and become a better person rather then just do ...
