About whitedove2009: My name is Deborah,I was born in New Jersey, on December 30, 1959. I lived in Smithtown Long Island New York, and Queen New York. There are seventeen siblings. I am the oldest of the girls and the only set of twins. My mother took very ill when I was a year old my mom was in a state hospital for over ten years. My brothers, my twin, and my self-where placed in foster care. My earlier years in school were very hard on me. Back in the day they really did not now too much about learning disability. I had a problem in my earlier years; by the time I was in the third grade, I did not know how to do my ABC or how to spell my name. The teachers just thought I was just lazy. Well I had a teacher that realized that was not the case, she had me tested and found out that I had Dyslexia. I then went to a school called BOCES. I was so happy that they found out what was wrong because I am the type of person that wanted to learn and now I was able to. When I was twelve, I went to live with my dad and that did not last long. My dad in every form you can think of abused me. My mom got out of the hospital a year later, and then I went to live with my mother. Well thing did not change with her either; I was abused, kept hostage in her house up until the age 31. I had a nervous breakdown on September 13, 1991. I was in the hospital for two weeks and sent back to my foster family when I was a child. My life turned around for the better.
September 13, 1991 is all so the day I got sober and off of drugs. When I left my mother, I had third grade reading and fourth grade math. I put my self back in to school. I had gone through the Literacy and got my high school diploma in six months. I am very proud of myself for not letting my education slip away from me. I am married to the greatest man in the world. I know my husband since I was seven years old. His name is Gregory. We are married going on seventeen years August 15, 1992. We have no children but we have two cats. I took ill a few years ago; I had two knee replacements that did not take very well. I all so have Scoliosis, which left me home, bound. Be for I took ill I was doing home nursing, which I love but now I guess its time to go in another field. Here I am at 49 back in school. The field that I would like to get in to is psychology. I have to say it might be hard but I am going to give it my all. I have over come many obstacles in my life. I feel I will be able to achieve my final goal of a good education. I have learned if you believe in your self, any thing is possible.
